Jane Bess Pottery Featured Artist in Skirt Magazine!

http://augusta.skirt.com/shes_so_skirt/jane-bess-potter

I'm the featured artist this month for Skirt Magazine....in the print edition and online too!  Check out the link above.
Sea Turtle Ornaments: Handmade pottery stoneware Sea Turtles are individually made by myself in my Edgefield, South Carolina studio.  Each adorable sea turtle has an embossed pattern that I rub into the clay by hand and then each is glazed by hand after the initial bisque firing process.  And, as always I use several glazes to create beautifully layered effects.  Each ornament is unique and original with subtle variations in pattern and color...just like a real Sea Turtle!

Sea Turtles to the SC Aquarium

Exciting News Everyone....The SC Aquarium will soon be selling my handmade pottery Sea Turtle Ornaments. Check out the SC Aquarium website when you get a chance. http://scaquarium.org/

Imagine sitting along the water's edge watching the sunrise and ocean tides come rolling in. Imagine the calmness and peace that the ocean has upon you as you start your day. Now imagine holding your own handmade pottery mug as you sip your morning coffee or hot tea as you take in the beauty of your environment.

Is there any better way to start your day?

The Palmetto Mug is for anyone that loves the coastal environment - especially those living in South Carolina and that crave those few moments of morning solace as they start their day.

Jars, bunnies, and bowls

These small lidded treasure jars are just adorable. There are so many wonderful uses for these jars. Just imagine them filled with your favorite Easter candies, or perhaps clustered together on an entrance foyer table. The handmade pottery bunny rabbits are must haves as well. And, the dark ocean blue serving bowl with rope handle is a custom order piece I did for a new customer. This bowl will be proudly displayed on her veranda in the center of a small square dining table. When she saw the matching blue pottery wine glasses, she decided she needed a set of those as well.

Springtime is a wonderful time of year to bring out your Jane Bess Pottery pieces and enjoy outdoor entertaining. Add to your pottery collection with handmade pottery plates, wine glasses, seashell serving bowls, and the list goes on. Much of my work is one of a kind, and available in a variety of glaze options.
